KNEE - Chondroma

Description
An ovoid nodule some 8.0 cm in maximum dimension; the surface is bosselated and largely covered by cartilage. Microscopy showed this to be a benign chondroma.
History
This man presented at the age of 42 with a 5 year history of a lump on the anterolateral aspect of the left knee. Knee flexion was limited to 15 . An X-ray showed scattered calcification in the mass; at operation the mass overlying the head of the tibia and extending deep to the patella ligament was removed.
